Type certification is performed on Ex-equipment:
a) in accordance with annexes in the Regulations of Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Official Gazette no. 34/10) (the same as Directive 94/9/EC- ATEX 95), and they are:
              - TYPE EXAMINATION procedure – Annex III, or
              - UNIT certification – Annex IX

b) in accordance with IEC standards and procedure IECEx 02: Rules of Procedure when an international IECEx certificate is issued.

Regardless of the annex concerned, Ex-Agencija performs certification which involves:

              - examination and evaluation of the certification documentation, that is, checking conformity with the requirements of standards or conformity with the Essential health and safety requirements, and
              - testing of representative sample(s) or product.

The Department for Equipment Certification is accredited by the Croatian Accreditation Agency according to standard HRN EN 45011:1998 (EN 45011:1998). The scope of accreditation is given in accreditation certificate No. 3115/08 dated 08th March 2011.

This Ministry of Interior has appointed the Department for Equipment Certification as authorized body no. E-1/08 (authorization), to perform certification work according to Annexes III, V, VI, VIII and IX of the Regulations for equipment and protective systems (Official Gazette no. 34/10).

Ex-Agencija is authorized certification body ExCB in international certification scheme IECEx Scheme. IECEx Scheme issued to Ex-Agencija Certificate of Acceptance.

Ex-Agencija also carries out the deposit of TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION for category 2 non-electrical equipment, in accordance with Annex VIII.

The manufacturer or authorized representative may request voluntary equipment certification from Ex-Agencija, which is not required as mandatory the Regulations of Equipment OJ 34/10 (non-electrical equipment category 2, excluding motors with internal combustion and other equipment of category 3).

CERTIFICATE VALIDITY
The HR-Type Examination certificate (Annex III) or Certificate of Conformity (Annex IX) are issued without an expiration date. Any further limitations concerning the supply and use of products according to certificates issued may be determined by other legislated regulations.
Validity of an IECEx certificate is connected with valid audit of manufacturer’s quality system (QAR – Quality Assessment Report).
